Vehicle Inspections and General Repairs:

  • Ensure all vehicle detail is accurately recorded on the job card system.
  • Ensure defects are comprehensively recorded on the job card system.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures regarding inspection sheets.
  • Ensure all vehicles electrical systems checked are handed to Electrical Supervisor fully completed.
  • Ensure all fault codes are repaired and cleared on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure all special tools and equipment is available and in working condition.

Job Cards:

  • Complete all related faults identified.
  • Log all other identified faults found on vehicle.
  • Responsible to hand completed job-card to Electrical Supervisor to be signed-off in a timeous manner.

Electrical Output:

  • Adhere to manufacturer’s specifications as specified in the Electrical Manual available in workshop and Impact Computer System.
  • Ensure analytic tools are utilized effectively.
  • Ensure the following (minimum) aspects are fully understood and can be repaired and maintained as required:
    – Engine
    – Gearbox
    – Retarder
    – Clutch related functions
    – Brakes operations (EBS and ABS)
    – Basic Air Systems
    – PC Boards
    – Air cons
    – Batteries
    – Alternators
    – Looms and connections
    – Destination Boards
    – All interior and exterior lights
    – Toilet fans & flushing systems
    – Starters
    – Air Suspension (mechanical and electrical checks)
    – Body and control panels
    – DVD and Audio visual equipment
    – All electrical work on trailers (plugs and wires)
    – All general & relevant product electrical checks.
  • Ensure dash-board clusters are in a working condition.
  • Ensure post-repair check-lists are done.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure safety is managed at all breakdowns.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of vehicles.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of working environment.
  • Manage all parts and wires used in an orderly and responsible manner.

Breakdowns:

  • Manage any breakdown from call received to solution implemented.
  • Obtain all relevant information from crew.
  • Ensure problem is analysed and probable causes identified.
  • Complete all relevant documentation and update log-book with breakdown information.
  • Report extent of problems outside own responsibility to Workshop Manager / Operations immediately after assessing situation.
  • Provide feedback and complete breakdown report directly upon returning from breakdown.
  • Ensure break-down vehicles are filled and cleaned after each break-down.
  • Ensure correct tools and equipment are available for breakdowns.

RELATED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Enjoy working independently as well as be part of a team.
  • Assist as required in the technical department.
  • Be focused on providing work of an extremely high quality.
  • Be prepared to work shifts.
  • Must have own toolbox.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

BOOKKEEPER

We are recruiting for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team!

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPA’s)

1. Account Reconciliations, Month-end Reporting & Monthly/Weekly/ Daily Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Financial Accountant with the reconciliation of the General Ledger per entity (Core & Africa “C&A”).
  • Ensure all accounting journals are reviewed by the FM and filed with supporting documentation (C&A).
  • Prepare the reconciliation for all sub-ledgers and nominal ledgers and ensure they reconcile (C&A).
  • Monthly reversals of the prior month future income, accruals (C&A) and foreign currency translation journals (Africa) prepared and submitted to Financial Manager for review.
  • Foreign currency translation journals prepared for current month and submitted to Financial Manager for review (Africa).
  • Prepare inventory journals and reconciliations (Core).
  • Prepare accrual and provision journals and reconciliations (C&A).
  • Assist with the clearing of suspense accounts on a daily basis as directed by the Financial Accountant and Management (C&A).
  • Prepare the reconciliation of payroll related costs to external payroll reports (C&A).
  • Assist the Financial Accountant with the preparation of intercompany balances and transaction reconciliations (C&A).
  • Ensure management is immediately informed of any unresolved issues or discrepancies that pose a potential risk to the business (C&A).
  • Ensure management accounts provide an accurate reflection of monthly business results (C&A).

2. Debtor Account Reconciliations, Processing & Account Managing (Core):

  • Ensure account reconciliations and matching are done timeously and accurately.
  • Ensure all journals (correcting and reallocation) are accurate and validated and signed by the preparer and Debtor Manager.
  • Assist with processing of journals and receipts in SAGE as needed.
  • Ensure long outstanding items are cleared or items that cannot be cleared has valid reasons with supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all shortages of cash are timeously followed up on and resolved and where applicable that short forms that comply with legal requirements are completed and sent to HR.
  • Ensure all outstanding items are resolved timeously.
  • Ensure management is immediately advised of discrepancies to highlight potential theft and/or fraud cases or unresolved issues.
  • Ensure monthly that all sub ledgers, general ledger and age analysis’ are in balance with each other.
  • Ensure all cash count sheets reconcile back to records in the accounting package and that any reconciling items are resolved timeously.

3. Product Knowledge and utilisation of all systems used in Intercape:

  • Ensure up to date knowledge of the product (SAGE/MOVE/BOOKING SYSTEM) and taking initiative in broadening own skills in the use of the product
  • Responsible for effective utilisation, accurate capturing, and thorough record keeping on all systems relevant to perform daily tasks within department
  • Responsible to ensure that you have received training on SAGE/MOVE/BOOKING SYSTEM/all other applicable systems

4. Completed Admin:

  • Ensure company finance and admin policies, procedures and time requirements are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure procedures and deadlines are adhered to at all times
  • Assist with Audit preparation and filing

5. Managed Risks:

  • Assist with cost reduction by identifying and suggesting innovative ways of sustained cost reduction across the business.

6. Service Oriented Environment & Supplier Relations:

  • Ensure professional impression is maintained at all times
  • Ensure respectful communication with customers when handling queries

The successful candidate will be responsible for our bus and truck fleet consisting mostly of Scania, Volvo and MAN coaches and Merc trucks.

Job Cards:

  • Act as final sign-off on all job-cards (accountable for all work completed).

Management Output:

  • Adhere to manufacturer’s specifications as specified in all related technical areas (electrical, mechanical, body, tyres and trailers)
