Social Responsibility and Investment

 

In accordance with Intercape’s shareholder vision Intercape has embarked on the following
initiatives to improve the quality of life of our interrelated communities and ultimately ensure a
better future for all:

 

Eagles Rising


Providing financial assistance to Eagles Rising, a Non-Profit organization to assist them in
achieving the following main objectives in accordance with their company vision of Inspiring
and equipping disadvantaged young people to discover and attain their life´s purpose:

  1. To provide short term, medium term and long term mentoring and training programs for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, focusing on their academic, emotional, spiritual, physical, and life skills development, to better prepare them for integration into society.
  2. To provide assistance in the development of disadvantaged communities by offering community training in a variety of social, family, health and economic skills.
  3. To assist the development of school learners.
  4. To assist students in identifying suitable careers, obtaining employment, and / or furthering their education. This includes aiding students in obtaining financial assistance where possible.

 

 

Christian Worship Assemblies

 

Providing INTERCAPE staff and other interested parties with the opportunity to attend
Christian worship assemblies facilitated by external speakers on an ongoing basis.
Alongside the normal business, we have created Intercede Ministries, which focuses on
implementing this vision. On Friday mornings there are informal Praise & Worship sessions
with various teachings together in complete equality and unity.

We have 36 routes through-out Southern Africa and on each of our 73 coaches, we have
introduced our own family friendly material for your viewing pleasure that promotes the
Gospel.

 

 

People in Need

 


Providing financial aid and any other assistance to various distressed individuals. Every Friday
afternoon for the past 3 years about 250 to 300 kids come to Intercape for some food, some
love and more importantly – the Good News that Jesus loves them!
The kids are divided into age groups where they sing gospel songs and listen to bible stories in
their home languages. They are given food to eat there and also receive a small food parcel to
take home to their families. From time to time when we have sufficient clothes collected to
give them all some clothes on a given date, we do so.
We also have a Christmas year-end program where the kids do the nativity play and sing all the
songs they have learned through-out the year to their parents and family, who are invited to
join on that day. Everybody is given food and the children each receive a gift as well.


Non-Profit organizations


Providing financial assistance to various Non-Profit organizations to assist them in achieving
their specific company visions by means of free coach hire, free passenger tickets etc.

Enterprise Development


INTERCAPE is also involved as part of its BBBEE strategy in developing entrepreneurial
ventures associated within its sphere of influence and expertise. This involves financial and
non financial assistance. The first company involved cleaning, security and porter services and
the second company in supplying trained professional drivers and cabin attendants to the
transport industry.
